Freida Marion Scott, nee Ewart, was a prolific artist who painted still lifes, landscapes, portraits and abstract works in a variety of styles. Her work ranged from Post-Impressionistic to Scottish Colourist.

As a member of the Glasgow Society of Women Artists and the Southern Art Club, her work was admired throughout Glasgow and Scotland. Freida Scott was also a lecturer of Art at Jordanhill College in Glasgow. Kelvingrove Art Gallery chose one of her paintings to hang in the ‘Your Paintings’ area of the Galleries, which has proven itself a popular exhibit. The artist, much admired by her peers, died in 2012.
